New organization coming to county
A new organization is coming to Cayuga County.
The American Bikers Aimed Toward Education, New York's premiere motorcyclist rights organization, is establishing a chapter in the county and will be holding a general interest meeting on at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at the Polish Falcons, 75 Pulaski Street in Auburn.
All are welcome to attend.
A.B.A.T.E. of New York aims and purposes are: to review and inform members about government motorcycle legislation; to improve road conditions, making motorcycling safer; to help prevent accidents through education; to promote positive community relations; to promote political involvement of motorcyclists; to act as a legislative liaison between motorcyclists and government authorities, local and statewide, as well as other organizations; to report and discourage biased news reporting of motorcyclists; and, to present and promote a better public image of motorcyclists by keeping A.B.A.T.E. of New York, Inc. sponsored events orderly and peaceful.
Woman charged in forgery incident
A Moravia woman was charged by the New York State Police in Auburn June 6 with stealing a coworker's paycheck and cashing it at First Niagara Bank.
Connie Scott, 58, of Lot 13, 35 Park St. Ext., was charged with the felony of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and the misdemeanor of third-degree identity theft.
