AHS grid boosters seeking advertisers
Auburn High School sports boosters are currently soliciting ad space for an Auburn football program and media guide. The magazine will include pages on the history of Auburn football, pictures and bios on the coaches and players, and a recap of last year's season.

Poorman to host golf tournament

Mike Poorman Contracting will hold its first golf tournament at 12:30 p.m. July 22 at the Lakeview Golf and Country Club. Participants should arrive by noon. The cost to register is $75 per person, and $300 per team.

Auburn girls lax camp holding sign ups

Registration is still open for the Auburn Girls Lacrosse Camp for girls entering grades 1 through 8.

The camp will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Seward Elementary School on Mondays through Thursdays during the period of July 25 to August 9.

Camp registration forms can be downloaded at laxified.com under the Auburn Girls team site. The deadline to register is July 15.

Auburn softball camp starts July 23

Auburn High School will host the annual Auburn Softball Camp in two different sessions.

The first will run from July 23 to July 26 and is for girls entering grades 6 through 9 this fall. The second will run from July 30 through August 2 and is for girls entering grades 2 through 5 this fall. Each day goes from 9 a.m. until noon.

The cost to register is $40, and there is a $5 discount for each additional sibling that signs up. Bob Lee, coach of Auburn High School's varsity softball team, will run the camp.

Auburn softball to hold car wash July 21

There will be a car wash from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 21 at Arby's on Grant Avenue.

Proceeds of the car wash will benefit Auburn Softball.

Rev. Shamon Golf Tourney on July 29

The 16th annual Father Shamon Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on July 29 at the Dutch Hollow Country Club. Entry fees are as follows: $75 for an individual, $350 for a corporate team, $200 for a family team and $130 for mixed couples. The fees include green fees, a golf cart, food, beverages, dinner and awards.

The deadline to register is July 12. Forms are available at the Knights of Columbus.

D-days holding raffle for Little Leaguers

There will be a raffle on July 7, at the Auburn Doubledays game to benefit six Auburn Little Leaguers who will be traveling to Cooperstown to play Aug. 24. Tickets are $5, and will be sold at the game and in advance by calling Jim Drancsak. Prizes include four tickets to Blue Jays games Sept 1-2, an ipod video, a diamond ring, and four passes to The Links at Erie Village. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize.
