Funny Cide races in Canandaigua today
Funny Cide, the 2003 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner, will compete today at the Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack in the Wadsworth Memorial Handicap.
He will be the first-ever Triple Crown race winner to compete at the track in its 46-year history.
Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and Funny Cide will make his way on to the racetrack around 4 p.m.
D-days' raffle to benefit Little League
There will be a raffle on July 7, at the Auburn Doubledays game to benefit six Auburn Little Leaguers who will be traveling to Cooperstown to play Aug. 24.
Tickets are $5, and will be sold at the game and in advance by calling Jim Drancsak. Prizes include four tickets to Blue Jays games Sept 1-2, an ipod video, a diamond ring, and four passes to The Links at Erie Village. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize.

Great Race XXX kicks off Aug. 12
The 30th annual Great Race will take place at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12, at Emerson Park in Auburn. The race is a team triathlon consisting of two-, three-, and four-person relay teams. Participants can run, bike, canoe or kayak. The event is open to all ages. Applications are now available at the Auburn YMCA.

Gummerson golf tourney is Sunday
The fourth annual Sean Gummerson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. July 8, at the Dutch Hollow Country Club.

Swim lessons to be held at Harris Park
The Cayuga-Aurelius Recreation Program will be sponsoring swimming lessons in three two-week sessions at Harris Park on Depot Road.
The first session will be held July 9-20, the second from July 23, to Aug. 3, and the third from Aug. 6-17. Lessons are 30 minutes long and will be held Monday through Thursday, with Friday serving as the rain date.
Registration cost is $15 for children, $20 for two children, $25 for three children, and so on.

Bass Pro hosting Kid's Day Saturday
The Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center will host Kid's Day on July 7 at the fish tank. Curt Strutz will be in the store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. presenting his children's show, “Fishing For Laughs.”
There will be three scheduled shows at the fish tank during the day.
Junior golf camp at Dutch Hollow
The Dutch Hollow Country Club's junior golf camp will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday from June 27 to August 8, except for July 4. The camp is open to juniors between the ages of 8 and 16. Players will be grouped according to age and ability.
