Coming off their first three-game sweep of the season, the Auburn Doubledays had to go into extra frames to secure a fourth-straight win.
The Doubledays knocked off the rival Batavia Muckdogs, 3-2 in 11 innings Wednesday in Batavia. Auburn (10-6) is now one game back of first-place State College in the New York-Penn League's Pinckney Division.

After pounding out big hits all week against Mahoning Valley, the Doubledays scored once in the top of the second against Batavia but were held scoreless for the next eight innings.

In the top of the 11th, Auburn's Victor Santana belted a one-out triple and later scored on a wild pitch. The Doubledays added another run when Brad Emaus scored on a Muckdog error.

Auburn had a chance to add to the lead later in the inning but Leance Soto was gunned out at the plate by Batavia first baseman Andrew Brown.

The Muckdogs mounted a rally in the bottom of the 11th but Auburn doubled off Batavia's Justin Roberson at third base to record the game's final out. Batavia scored earlier in the inning on a Steve Gonzalez RBI single.

Edgar Estanga earned the win for Auburn after pitching two innings in relief. Adam Rogers got the game's final two outs to earn his first save of the season.

Hot-hitting Manny Rodriguez again led Auburn offensively, going 3-for-5 with a double. Carlos Vasquez drove in Auburn's second inning run.

Kyle Walter pitched well in his second start for the Doubledays, going five innings, allowing three hits and one run.

Javier Nieves tossed 3 1-3 innings of scoreless relief.
