A flying ant invasion at the Department of Motor Vehicles office in the Cayuga County office building caused the office's closure Thursday and sent one employee to the hospital.
Cayuga County Manager Wayne Allen said the 160 Genesee St. DMV office was sprayed Tuesday with insecticide to kill the ants. Wednesday and Thursday people began to complain they weren't feeling well and Thursday morning one employee was sent to the hospital after complaints.

Allen said that the employee is feeling fine and that the county has closed the office and expects its to be open on Friday as long as an environmental cleaning company assures that the office's air quality is normal.

All DMV employees were sent home and told what to do if not feeling well.

The Cayuga County clerk's office was temporarily closed Thursday but Allen said he expected it to reopen later in the day.

" Remember, the horror of the Saddam Hussien only began to come to light after he so vicously gassed his own people. Is COunty Manager Wayne Allen trying to emulate him and follow in his footsteps? "
