This is one conservative who's proud to be voting for Cherry Love-Duncan for city council because she is the spokesman for the black community, and would bring peace and tranquillity to our city council.
Even though it's a left-wing organization, area residents were shocked to learn Billy Kufs did not win the Leadership Cayuga Awards for this year.

This is a message to the voters of Francis Mitchell's legislative district: Do the county a favor and vote this guy out in the fall election. If this term limit agreement is the type of work that he produces, he does not deserve to be elected.

The rise and fall of the Roman Empire took 600 years. The rise and fall of the United States of America took less than 200 years, and we all sit back and allow it to happen.

Liberalism isn't just a mental disease, it a highway to despotism.

Summer's here -- watch out for the Auburn drivers.

There is no shortage of jobs here. I have three of them.

" I know silly rabbit was not calling me stupid... when he's probably the one sitting in CNY working the 3 minimum wage jobs just to survive.... work smart silly rabbit not hard.... moron "

" Yes, silly rabbit, its obvious that the guy working 3 jobs was being sarcastic, but 350 per month for health coverage ain't too bad when I know plenty of folks paying well over 700 for their family. "

" A conservative political view is held by those that want to help people help themselves when it's at all possible, so eventually they won't need handouts paid for by taxpayers who work hard for their money. A liberal only cares for himself and those who share his views or those he can force his views upon. "

" Here in the very stick "bible belt" in the south, where half the counties are "dry", they still have "live after five" every thursday in downtown Raleigh with beer and live bands. It has helped reanimate a dying downtown that now has new condos, new businesses, and a new convention center. I think if the leaders want to revitalize downtown, then State Street Music in the Mall couldn't hurt. Oh and Brew, how is haaving a vendor serving beer at Falcon Park any different than a vendor serving beer downtown? "

" I know County employees, yes those employees that most of the dullards in this sad City think make a ton of money and get cheap great benefits, and they have 2 and 3 jobs themselves!! Paying over 350$ a month for benefits certainly cuts into the bottom line when your only making 14-1500$ a month, AND you have a family to support! "

silly rabbit wrote on Jun 29, 2007 7:55 AM:

" Hey Skyblue: you are obviously too stupid to notice sarcasm also... it is YOU than needs to wake up and look around! "

" I think the right to drink in public places is a thing of the past. Drink in bars or your home or the ball park. And the city does not sell beer at the ball park, a vendor hired by the city does. "

" A liberal political view is held by those that care for their fellow man, the poor, the sick, the elderly, disadvantaged persons and those who have made bad choices. A conservative only cares for himself and those who share his views or those he can force his views upon. "

" I can't believe the city manager cancelled the State Street Music on the Mall because alcohol is served at the event. I've been going to that for years and have enjoyed it very much. Just because there was alcohol served does not mean it was a "beer blast". Syracuse and Rochester have these kind of events and use them as a selling point. There are not a lot of things to do in Auburn for entertainment and the city manager is getting rid of a good event. Remember the city of Auburn owns Falcon Park (home of the Auburn Doubledays) and they sell beer there, how hypocritical can the city be. "

" Logical thinking does little good when you are working with faulty information. Not that I agree with your premise in the first place though. "

murphyb wrote on Jun 28, 2007 5:29 PM:

" Working 3 jobs? That proves that there is a shortage of good paying jobs around here or else you wouldn't have to have three. Find out how many recent college grads have good jobs then maybe you'll change your mind about there not being a job shortage. "

" If the post about the Republican voting for Love-Duncan is true, then I'd have to say that someone forgot to take their meds. I have one philosophy when someone like her (Love-Duncan)comes along--When alot of people may THINK you are an idiot, why open your mouth and remove all doubt? Cherry, why do you have to keep opening your mouth? "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Jun 28, 2007 1:50 PM:

" What it means is you HAVE to work 3 jobs to make enough to live on given the kind of jobs available here. It's why I commute. "

justaround wrote on Jun 28, 2007 11:39 AM:

" We do have a shortage of jobs for the college graduates here however there are jobs for those that need an income unfortunately lower paying jobs but they are there. So I see that point if someone is saying they are working three jobs, the jobs are there if you have to have the income and truly want or need to work, which we all do. "

Leon Kapowski wrote on Jun 28, 2007 11:33 AM:

" Conservatives are usually logical thinkers, and voting for Ms. Love-Duncan would be, in the words of Mr. Spock, "highly illogical". I doubt that post is real, and even further, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Ms. Love-Duncan posted that herself. Live long and prosper! "

skyblue5940 wrote on Jun 28, 2007 11:22 AM:

" no shortage of jobs?? really? i wonder why half of the graduating classes of college students move elsewhere for advancement? maybe because theres no room for advancement or success in cny... dude with 3 jobs... please...wake up and take a look around.. "
