I am writing in reference to Marilyn Sroka's letter printed Sunday, June 17, 2007.

I agree with her 100 percent regarding the fact that there were no articles or pictures of the BOCES graduation held June 6.

As Marilyn said, these students deserve the same recognition for their achievements as other seniors do in the county schools who are a different educational tract.

Throughout the past few years I have seen at times articles written by various students from the different high schools.

Why are there not students reporting from BOCES concerning their activities and achievements on a regular basis also?

I do not know if the lack of press is with the individual school systems, the BOCES system or both.

I certainly hope that with the opening of the new BOCES building in the fall, maybe there will be a start for more communication and visibility for these students.
