Man admits to disorderly conduct

An Auburn man pleaded guilty in Auburn City Court June 21 to disorderly conduct for an incident in which a city police officer was injured.

Christopher M. Costello, 28, of Apt. 501, 125 Austin Drive, was sentenced to a conditional discharge requiring him to stay out of trouble for a year, and community service. Costello was in a fight with Teddy J. Strachan, 30, of 27 Lafayette Place, in the Auburn post office parking lot May 13, which police struggled to break up. Officer Kyle Platt's thumb was broken during the altercation, according to police.

Strachan was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. His brother, Jeffrey, 31, of Apt. 1, 8 James St., Auburn, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree obstructing governmental administration by allegedly trying to stop his brother's arrest. Both cases are still pending.
