BALDWINSVILLE -- Hundreds of family, friends and complete strangers turned out this morning to pay tribute to two young Weedsport boys killed in a Jefferson County car accident about a week ago.
Memorial services for Tyler J. and Nathaniel J. Parker, ages 10 and 6, were kept private at the request of the family. Father Mark Parker had requested that sympathizers show support by joining the procession with new and classic cars of all kinds.
More than 100 drivers heeded the call, turning the parking lot of the Tri-County Mall into an impromptu car show. Many had picked up the request from media reports and came to show support.
"I came to show my respect," Rick Zeiner of Memphis, N.Y., said. "Today it's nice to see the community come out in force in this type of a situation."
The two boys were killed along with their 18-month-old sister, Mary Provo, after their mother, Lisa Parker, collided with a utility pole after allegedly speeding away from a police stop.
Funeral services for Provo are slated for Friday in Weedsport.
