Despite the draw of the Ringling Circus, there was a good-sized audience at the Annex for the interesting pictures, the finely illustrated songs and the new act of the Musical TenEycks.

All is not serene at Emerson Park as the summer season begins. The issue concerns the pavilion dance music. Francis Sargent, who has charge of concessions at the Emerson Park has been notified that he will have to conclude the engagement of “Red” Pearson. The musicians Union, Auburn Local has raised the ban on the band.

June 26, 1997 (No June 27 edition)

The Auburn City Council voted last week to increase the city property tax rate by 5 percent, instead of proposed 14 or 16 percent. The city was able to find more revenue to soften the impact of the rate change.

June 27, 2002

Francis Street resident Teresa Whipple plans to take photos of the Owasco-Osborne neighborhood. Whipple is among about a dozen residents and business owners who are taking the photos as a part of a neighborhood planning initiative the city has undertaken to revitalize the east side neighborhood.
