Nguyen scores game-winner as Lil' Orioles down Pirates

Meghan Dann and Kaitlyn Brewer had two hits and three RBIs apiece, while Emily Nguyen scored the winning run as the Lil' Orioles topped the Pirates 14-13 in an Auburn Jr. Olympic Softball 8-to-10 Division game Saturday.
Hanna Flaherty, Kaitlyn Brewer and Meghan Dann pitched for Lil Orioles. Flaherty also added two hits.

Melinda Frink and Taylor MacBain had two hits each for the Pirates while Alyssa Lawrence, Anna Butera and Taylor MacBain pitched.

Dodgers 10, Mets 7

Allison Divietro and Rachael Gleason had three hits each and Hannah Lesch added two hits to pace the Dodgers. Divietro, Lacey Netti and Lesch picked up the win.

Kara Hickey and Kelly Hicks were the losing pitchers. Hickey and Hicks also led the offense with two hits apiece. Ashley Stephens reached base three times.

Cardinals 17, Lil Yankees 3

Annie Giannone went 3-for-3 and Katie Hansen picked up a triple in the win. Morgan Bell, Baylee Casper and Maggie Smith had two hits each and Sam Walawender, Hansen and Giannone pitched for the Cardinals.

Abbey Martin had two hits to lead the Lil Yankees and Shaelyn Freeman doubled. Danielle Vuillemont and Jordan Walawender pitched in the loss.

11-to-12

Red Sox 10, Angels 9

Danielle Burgmaster pitched the first three innings and Lezlie Balk closed out the final two for the Red Sox.

Kristina Netti went 3-for-3, Nora Garrett had two hits and scored twice and Sarah Festa added two hits.

Leading the Red Sox defense was Mary Netti, Jessica Dec, Tess Dempsey and Danielle DeFederico.

Brianna Enge and Kacy Gervis led the Angels offensively while Alexas McBride and Brittany Massi led the Angels defensively.

13-to-14

Wolverines 22, Sun Devils 4

Emily Haff hit a three-run home run and Michelle Wilmot went 5-for-5 for the Wolverines. Nicole Weaver and Samantha Shaheen each went 3-for-4 while Marissa Valentino and Gabby Haff shared pitching duties.

Danielle Pisano contributed a double for the Wolverines.

Christina Hrynyk pitched for the Sun Devils while Kiz Westburgh (two hits) and Brittany Lawler led the offense.

Wolverines 18, Warriors 3

Gabrielle Haff and Katie Blank picked up the win while Haff (home run), Ashley Decker (three hits) and Katie Blank (two doubles) led the offense.

Taylor Acresti and Allison Pelton pitched for the Warriors.

Dolphins 7, Warriors 4

Ali VanGiesen struck out nine and Meg Feocco struck out six for the Dolphins. Rachel Carbonaro, Kelsey Sweger, Feocco and VanGeisen had picked up an RBI.

Shannon Haff was the losing pitcher while Mikela Anderson scored two runs.
