Two Cents

Saturday, June 23, 2007 11:34 PM EDT

It's fantastic that upstate New York has produced the two finest young singing talents in the country in recent years, in Elbridge's Joanna Brehaut, who sounds like a combination of Patsy Kline and Judy Garland, and Denny Sedor's daughter Alicia, here in Auburn, who they say is a deadringer for Nora Jones.
It's pretty obvious that only the left-wing extremists of the area - Lacey, Cosentino, Backus and Stearns - are calling for the demise and silence of the Two Cent column. We conservatives love the Two Cent column and think everybody should be elated that Joe Six-Pack now has a soap box just like the libs.

There is a lot more crime in the city and I feel a lot is coming from the prison. They get out, stay there and bring their partners in crime to sell and buy drugs.

People that live in the historical district ought to sue so they won't be denied something everybody else in the city gets.

When the Democrats speak of a candidate with experience, They get a little mixed up with that word. By experience they mean another double dipper.

A message to Auburn leaders, you're a little upside down guys. It's not sidewalks, we need the streets paved like East Genesee Street, please.

" Has anyone drove down Perrine St? When will the city fix it? I am surprised that car parts are not all over the street from the potholes... I mean the Bottomless Pits that cover the street. Its Horrible!!! "

" I own my house, I pay the mortage,I pay the property tax,I pay the school tax, I pay the county tax,and I maintain my home, if you don't like where my dish is placed don't drive by my house or better yet get a job and do somthing constructive so you don't have spare time driving around and looking for houses with trashy dishes. " First of all, there is not "alot more crime in The City". There is more crime being committed by youths though. A big reason is the economy is soiling the bed. "

" Katie Lacey is trying to destroy the local Democratic Party, and she is doing a fine job. I can guarentee that as a registered Democrat, I will not be voting for any of her endorsed candidates. "

" A person's home is there castle. They can put anything they want on it. If it were my house, I would seek injuctive relief and make the Historical Society/City pay all my Court Fees after I dragged it through the Courts. Then I would paint my house in Syracuse University colors and tell them that if they don't like it, they can buy it from me and paint it any color they want. "

" I believe you have the facts wrong!! It's not the people in prison, but its the scum that follow from places like NYC and its surrounding ghettos!! They come to visit and these dirtbags stay. I feel these people from large cities should been screened before they can come live in our community. If you have any connections with inmates here then your unwelcome!! Go home scumbags from NYC and their ghettos!!! "

" I would much rather see a small dish like Direct TV on my house than these outdated 10 foot wide dishes taking up a chunk of yard space... "

" So the left wingers fear this column? What in the world are you talking about? Get a grip. "

" Buy_local obviously doesn't understand that satellite dishes are strategically placed for a clear line of site to get the best signal. Without a signal, it's useless. "

" It's not just the left wingers who fear this column it's all party affliates. They fear the fact that people can expose them, their records and their lies. "

" I think Direct TV should be sued for strategically placing their satellite dishes where everyone who passes your house will see them. Like little billboards on every home, they look trashy in any neighborhood. "
