I don't know any suckers that attend church. People of the church give hope, faith, time, money and compassion to those in need in our community.
Thank you to the two ladies on North Marvin Avenue who helped me last week with a lounge chair. There are still some nice people left in this world.

What our health care system needs is less doctor gods and more good Samaritans.

What is better? Paying rent to the Indians, or do we continue letting the state extort all that we have left.

I just finished reading what the Gonzales/Lautenberg Senate Bill 1237 would do to America if passed. It definitely will bring about Thomas Jefferson's “Time to water the Tree of Liberty.”

What about these village newspapers always putting rules for dogs? What about cats that mess in neighbors gardens, so they can't garden anymore?

Why is it that every Sunday in your letters to the editor section you print letters from every liberal nut in Cayuga County? I never see a conservative letter at all.

I have lived on the Owasco Lake watershed for over 50 years. Senator Nozzolio is the only state official that I can recall that has tried to solve the pollution problems on our lake and watershed.

What we need on the East side of Auburn is a Price Chopper.

Amnesty for illegal aliens is wrong. My grandmother has her name etched on the Wall of Honor at Ellis Island so say no to amnesty and make immigration honorable again.

It was nice to read about the AMH employees getting together. It's hard and serious work, and they deserve some R&R.

One great restaurant I wish they would bring to Auburn is the Cheesecake Factory restaurant. It's the best restaurant I've ever been to and we really need something like that in Auburn.

I thought that tail-gating was illegal. There seems to be an awful lot of that going on around the Auburn area.

To the citizens of Auburn - Democrat, Republican, Independents, working class, working families and anybody else that lives in the city and can vote: I think you should look to Earl Staring Jr. as the new mayor.

How can anyone say “our country is safer today” when our back doors are still wide open!

Most taxpayers will agree that the work performance of many in government jobs is less than satisfactory. Therefore, shouldn't taxpayers have a say in who should go and who stays?

Apparently DNA evidence could release many more innocent people from prison, even those on death row. When this happens, it says a lot about how incompetent our judicial system is.

It looks like you had a good time partying at the Hoopes Park last night. Too bad you didn't think it was your responsibility to discard your empty Bud Light cans in the trash container, which was just a few feet away.

Any politician that tolerates border incursions of any kind - armed or not - with no strong retaliation from America, deserves incarceration on a charge of criminal negligence, subversion or collusion.

Mike Quill and Bill Jacobs almost destroyed Auburn with just the fire department budget. Imagine what they would do if they were in charge of the whole shooting match.

I don't think this is the time for a woman president. Hillary thinks she knows all the answers, but she makes promises she can't keep.

Without Medicaid there would be no nursing homes, and without excessive taxation there would be no Medicaid.

To broken record Lisa Backus: I don't know whether to quote Willie S. or Harry S.: “Ye protest too much,” or “If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

I can't wait to see a kiosk. Does it have legs?

" Right on many counts DD - which is why the Democrats scuk - they aren't much different than the rethugs. Used to be different, but now they look the same. As for supporting the welfare slime, you're looking in the wrong direction. The poor are a convenient scapegoat while the rich are the ones pocketing most of it. They're laughing all the way to the bank while you blame some poor schmuck who lost his job and/or health and gets peanuts in comparison. Trust me, the American people should be ashamed of how they treat those less fortunate while giving huge sums of money to those who don't need it and then look the other way. As for Hillary, she is a total disappointment. If her actions matched her rhetoric I would not have a problem with her at all. However, she sold out to her rich contributors. As for hybrids - I have no idea where you get that it takes more resources to produce a hybrid. Compared to what? A SUV? A Hummer? A Volkswagon? You're gonna have to do better than that DD - you're argument has no legs and sounds like something that drug addict RL would make up. The only problem I can see with hybrids is in regard to battery disposal and possibly problems with high voltage issues in an accident. As for the former, this sort of pollution is far easier to manage than greenhouse gases, and the materials are recyclable. Over time the technology should improve vastly as well. Regarding the latter, I do not recall the source of my information on this and don't know how accurate it is. As far as PORK - nothing like a bit of hypocrisy. The last 8 years has been nothing BUT pork for Bush, Cheney, and their buddies, esp KBR, the oil cos, and last but certainly not least, the deadly war machine that loves making and using WMD cause it makes them tons of money. PS - if you want to save money on your taxes, this is what you should be complaining about. More than half of your tax dollars go to an unjustifiable military which NOW OUTSPENDS ALL OF THE REST OF THE WORLD COMBINED!!! Think about that. As for the NAU Boobo, I have little doubt that this has been planned for some time but i don't follow it too much. As for conspiracy theories, if you believe the government's story about 9/11, you believe in conspiracy theories. And, you are either very gullible and/or not very well read on the subject at all. "

" WOW!, hope y'all saw Lou Dobbs piece on the "Security and Prosperity Partnership" otherwise known as the North American Union. Left Wing activists deny its existence, most citizens don't know about it, congress is not involved and all talks have been behind closed doors. Some say its a path set up by the White House to dissolve all three countries into one. There's already a "super highway" being built from the south Texas border to Denver. Bush has pledges to spend billions of our tax dollars to build mexico's infrastructure, but mexico has plenty of oil money and 20 billion a year sent home from the illegals working in this country. Too bad their leaders are so corrupt. I think we'll be hearing a lot more about it the coming months. "

" I find it funny that the Dems who for years now have damned the war on terror in Iraq as immoral, and wrong, now have voted to extend its funding because the bill they voted yes for included tons of pork for them. I guess immoral, and wrong is alright as long as your own special interest gets federal funding. Hillary's true colors are coming through. She's an opportunistic, carpet bagging, liar. The only reason she came to NY was to take the easiest path to the whitehouse. If there were a soon to be vacant US Senate seat in Florida, guess where she would have moved? I can't wait for she and Obama, the islamy salami, to canibalize each other and dilute the vote come election time. Not that the GOP is any better, but I love the grandstanding Dems. Big Al and his "global warming" dilemma. How about you quit flying around in your private jet Al? Same with John Travolta. What a foolish stance on the environment when you contradict your words with your actions. Lets invent "carbon credits" so we feel better about contradicting ourselves when we purchase them Big Al. Did you know that the purchase of a hybrid automobile causes the atmosphere more damage than a fossil fuel burning engine? True! They have to use more fossil fuels to manufacture, ship, and re-ship the engines and components to produce the so called "zero emmision vehicles." I guess we lose no matter what. I guess it doesn't matter considering there is no such thing as global warming. It is fictional, invented by Big Al Gore, and his investors to get everyone to use his company to develope green technology. His stock is through the roof. The earth has gone through many temp changes over its life. I guess Big Al would have invented something to "combat" the ice age if he were around then. When I say "combat" I mean make lots of money. When I say "invented" I mean fabricated. Anyway, I have to get back to work. Millions on welfare, and illegal aliens are depending on me. "

" I just figured you listened to Democracy now and I thought they were all about moveon.org and those extreme leftists. Anyway since you know about this conspiracy theories and what not, have you heard of a book coming out called "the late great USA"? I don't normally buy into conspiracy theories but this sounds scary. Apparently it exposes something called the "security and prosperity partnership" and how there is a shadow government working to unite all of North America. The author says this is why bush supports amnesty and plans to open the borders. He says all his info can be backed up. Ever heard of this? "

AJ wrote on Jun 21, 2007 3:13 PM:

" No Boobo, I don't want to tell you that. The democrats are nearly as much a part of the problem. Where did you ever get the idea that I was a big supporter of Democrats? That said, there are a lot of investigations going on which are uncovering the depth of the administration's lawlessness (which most anyone with a pulse should have already been aware of) which I applaud them for. "

" "Suckers (?) in church" -- That's an odd way to put it. Some of the best and most full of faith people I have ever known did not care for organized religion and did not attend church, but rather, practiced their faith on their own. I have also known many kind and generous people who had no formal faith. And I have known church-goers who refused to help me when I was disabled and unemployed when their pastor asked them to -- because they didn't like their perception of my EX-husband's politics. Some Christians! I hope the pastor gave them the remonstrative sermon she said she was going to give them for their lack of Christian charity. I made it through that very difficult time -- thanks to a non-church-going Catholic fella who truly practices his faith in his generosity and kindness to those in need, and no thanks to the congregation of the closest church.... "

" Yes, there have been news stories in other communities about basically good, compassionate people who had more cats than they could care for. Unfortunately, they usually arrest the person. I wish there were some agency which could take in the excess cats and help the person who doesn't have enough money to care for them properly move on to a safer more hygenic life. I have a friend with a dozen or so cats, but she lives in a big house and has the wherewithal to take really good care of them -- her house never smells inside, much less outside. So making a law that sets a number limit on cats isn't really fair or right -- it's a matter of whether they are cared for properly. "

" I dont quite understand how people can argue with the whole immigration thing, I mean we as citizens have laws that we are forced to follow and if we dont follow them, we're punished... correct? so.. how come... when immigrants come over and they dont want to go through the legal ramifications to become a citizen (based on the standards set forth by our government therefore they're breaking our laws...) we want to offer them amnesty? I mean wtf? if you want to come to america thats fine with me... but you'd better enter the country and stand in line with everyone else... the system was set forth so that we know what kind of people we're allowing into our backyards... our country has enough psychos, scumbags, and worthless government mungers that we dont need to invite every other countries in too.. bottom line... " "I don't think this is the time for a woman president. Hillary thinks she knows all the answers, but she makes promises she can't keep." Do you really think the MAN in charge now is doing a great job? Come on. Why shouldn't there be a woman president? It can't POSSIBLY get any worse than it is now. I think you should have said "I don't think this is the time for HILLARY to be president," and not because she's a woman but for what she stands for. Sexism is a thing of the past- time to move on and get with the present. There is nothing wrong with having a woman leader- look at all the countries today that have women leaders and are doing fine. Man or woman, we are all Americans. I assume you also think that there shouldn't be an African American president either right? All hail the white male apparently (and look where THAT'S gotten us). I think the politicians, regardless of sex or race, need to focus more on what the Americans want out of their government instead of debating about non-political issues such as stem-cell research and abortion. What do they have to do with politics? NOTHING! We need to focus more on health care and the war. At the rate this country/election is going, we'll be so far in the hole by the time the 2008 election comes around, NO ONE will be able to save us. "

In fact they are only going to blow them wide open. With the huge influx of unskilled, uneducated immigrants, our social programs will soon crumble. Yep, it looks like the late great USA won't last much longer than any other great society in History, about 200 yrs is the average. "
