Hit, run driver should do the right thing: Admit it

Wednesday, June 20, 2007 9:39 AM EDT

This letter is to the owner of the Honda that hit my parked car recently. At around 3 a.m., a Honda hit my vehicle on Parker Street and sped away. They left behind a good amount of damage and lost their right side mirror.
Now, whatever the reason is for you hitting my car and driving off without stopping, I just want you to know that you have made my life a bit more difficult for me. My side panel is destroyed, left side mirror smashed, and my tire is popped.

Please, if you have any decency, come forward. We all make mistakes, but please take responsibility for your actions. I know that it will be difficult, but please, the person driving a Honda with only one mirror, who is missing the right side mirror, please come forward.

" DD: I thought when one is drunk, they know all and see all? Aren't drunks capable of everything? But yeah, you're right. They probably didn't notice anything because they were going too fast. Or maybe, they were on their cell phone? "

" Interested: I can't speak for the driver, but how do you expect a drunk driver with no mirror to survey the damage when they're driving 60 on a city street? Huh? Gotcha stumped on that one! "

" DD that is funny. Thanks for the laugh. But, you would think that the driver of the Honda would have felt the car jar a little when he/she hit the parked car. Wouldn't you? "

" Josh--How do you expect the driver to stop when they couldn't see the damage? How could he/she without the aid of a rear view mirror? "
