Energy Bike exhibit coming to fair

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County's booth at this year's Cayuga County Fair will feature the Energy Bike, an exhibit that takes riders on a tour of the world of electricity.

The bike is set up as a stationary bicycle, but its rear wheel is connected to a generator that powers different electrical items.

The bike will be displayed at the extension's booth from Thursday, July 5 to Sunday, July 8, at the fairgrounds in Weedsport, located on Route 31.

Dance program to be held at playgrounds

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a four-week Dance in the Park program at Clifford Field Playground, Herman Avenue Playground and Casey Park.

Kathy Zamniak will teach the free events at Clifford Field Playground from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Mondays, July 9, 16, 23, 30; Herman Avenue Playground from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays, same dates as above; and Casey Park from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Land trust to hold public workshop

The Finger Lakes Land Trust will hold a public workshop, Monday, June 25, to release findings and recommendations from its Owasco Flats Conservation Planning and Stakeholder Survey Project.

The workshop will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Moravia Volunteer Fire Company building at 38 Keeler Ave. in Moravia.

Arts council selling PGA tourney tickets

The Cayuga County Arts Council is selling tickets to the PGA event at the Turning Stone Resort Sept. 17-23.

The golf event will be held at Atunyote Golf Course on the grounds of the casino in Verona. Grounds pass tickets cost $10 each for practice rounds Monday to Wednesday, Sept. 18-20.

Tickets cost $25 each day Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20-21 and $35 each Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-23. Tickets for the entire week cost $100 each.

Ticket sales will benefit the council and its projects, including the Schine Theater Restoration and Rehabilitation project.
