Port Byron Farmers Market opens today
The Port Byron farmers market will open from 4 to 7 p.m. today, at Schasel Park on Route 31, Port Byron. The market will continue to be open during those hours every Wednesday through Sept. 12. There will be no market on Wednesday, July 4.

Everson picnic to celebrate families
This year's Everson Annual Summer Picnic's theme is “Come Sail Away at the Everson.” It will celebrate the special contributions of the Dietz, Hancock and Riester families.
The picnic will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 21, on the Everson Community Plaza and feature nautically-inspired food. Picnic-goers will also enjoy the sounds of Jim Horsman throughout the evening.
Reservations are required to participate. Proceeds from the picnic benefit the museum.

Church to host chicken barbecue
First United Methodist Church will hold a chicken barbecue at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the church, 99 South St., Auburn. The barbecue will go until the food is gone.
A full dinner is $7 and a chicken serving is $4.50. For more information, call 253-6295.
Youth Group to hold ice cream social
Fleming Federated Youth Group will host an Ice Cream Social from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the St. Isaac Jogues Building on Route 34, Fleming.
The event will feature live entertainment throughout the afternoon, children's games and all the ice cream you can eat. Hot dogs and soda will also be available.
Proceeds will be split between Hospice of the Finger Lakes and the Fleming Youth Group's mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

Roosevelt Memorial Baptist Church will offer chicken and rib dinners from noon until supplies are gone on Saturday, June 30, at the church, 101 Fitch Ave., Auburn.

The third annual Cherry Festival will offer cherry picking, wine tasting, food, live music, hay and pony rides and arts and crafts on the Cayuga Wine Trail.
The festival will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1, at Cobblestone Farm Winery & Vineyard, 5102 State Route 89, Romulus.

Vineyard to hold Garlic Festival
Fox Run Vineyards will hold it 15th annual Garlic Festival in August. This free two-day event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5, at Fox Run Vineyards on Seneca Lake.
Visitors may stock up on fresh garlic bulbs, food products infused with garlic, as well as a number of other local and regional specialties.
Also featured will be glass blowing demonstrations by the Corning Museum of Glass, live music and cooking demonstrations by executive chef for Fox Run, Frank Caravita.
