Rolling Wheels to host races Friday
“Furiously Fast Friday Night” street drag racing will take place at 8 p.m. June 22 at the Rolling Wheels Raceway Park on Route 5 in Elbridge. There will also be a neon glow contest and a burnout contest. The World of Outlaws late model series will will take place at 7 p.m. June 24 at the Cayuga County Fair Speedway.

Pop Warner sign-ups continue this week

Registration for Pop Warner football and cheerleading will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. June 21, and noon to 2 p.m. June 23, at the YMCA. Newcomers must bring a copy of their birth certificate, a photo, and a parent or guardian must be present.

Memorabilia raffle at D-days game

The Auburn Rotary Club and Foundation will hold a sports memorabilia raffle before and during parts of the Auburn Doubledays game against the Batavia Muckdogs at 7:05 p.m. June 21 at Falcon Park. Raffle tickets will be sold as follows: $1 for two, $5 for 12 and $10 for 25. Proceeds will go to area youth programs.

Girls lax camp still taking registrations

The Auburn Girls Lacrosse Camp will run a 10-session camp from July 25 to Aug. 9. Camp will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at Seward Elementary. It is open to all girls in grades first through eighth, and will provide a mix of skills, drills and games every day. The cost is $80 per child and $50 for each additional child.

Lumberjack shows to hit Bass Pro

The Hank Peters Lumberjack shows will take place at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. June 23 and June 24 outside the Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center in the Fingerlakes Mall. The shows will include all phases of lumberjack competition.

Cheer camp to be at Cato-Meridian

The Cato-Meridian Community Recreation Center will hold “Cheer Camp” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 25 to June 29. The camp will teach boys and girls the basics of cheerleading, including cheers, stunts and tumbling.

Soccer team seeks equipment

The varsity soccer teams at Union Springs High School are currently working on a campaign to collect your unwanted soccer equipment to donate to The Lighthouse School in the Dominican Republic.

Two soccer club members will be traveling to the region in July to deliver the equipment. For more information, contact Diane Saxton at 889-5639.
