Blood donors can also help save AMH
Auburn Memorial Hospital has a Life Share Plus agreement with the American Red Cross. The program rewards AMH for reaching a yearly collection goal through a reduced cost for blood products.
Once a donor is recognized as an AMH Life Share Plus donor, he or she can donate anywhere in the NY-Penn Region and AMH still receives credit for that donation. Registered new donors - those who have never donated or who have not donated within the past 24 months - can then donate anywhere in the NY-Penn Region on behalf of AMH.
AMH's next blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the hospital, on the second floor, across from the cafeteria. Anyone 17 years or older who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate.
While all blood types are needed, there is a critical need for type O Negative.
To schedule an appointment, call 255-7444.
Support group meets later this month
The Office for the Aging's Alzheimer's Community Service Program offers a support group for caregivers to those suffering from different forms of dementias.
The group meets at 4:30 p.m. the third Thursday of every month, at the Christ United Methodist Church on Congress Street in Moravia. The next meeting will be held June 21.
For more information, call 253-1104.
