Three years ago Benjamin E. Doan, the well-known farmer and raiser of squabs, who lives in Aurelius, had his stock of sheep increased by a ewe lamb that had six legs. The legs were perfect and the little lamb thrived and grew to full sheephood.

AUBURN - After nearly two decades of decline, the phoenix-like Cayuga Museum may rise again into a cultural lighthouse for the community. New director Jim Richerson hopes to resurrect the museum, which has suffered from
dwindling city and community support since its roof burned off in 1973. “I can help improve this museum's focus,” Richerson said. “But support needs to come from the community.”

OWASCO - When the Cayuga County Legislature adopted a resolution in May to review the Emerson Park master plan piece by piece instead of as a whole, there were some who thought it was a move to adopt the plan without formally approving it. The county's Parks and Trails Commission, however, sees it as just the opposite. Wednesday night commission members blasted legislators for a provision in the resolution that prevents Parks and Trails Director Michele Beilman from seeking money to pay for anything in the plan unless it's already on the table. “Those guys should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen,” said commission member Kevin Davis. “The only thing holding this park back are the people above us making the decisions.”
