On Wednesday, June 6, 2007, graduation services were held at Auburn High School for the 224 seniors who were graduating from BOCES.
I am not only flabbergasted but disgusted that not one article, let alone even a paragraph, has been published to honor these students.
A great many of them received “Over Achievement Awards,” many received perfect attendance for 14 years (preschool through high school). Others were honored with scholarship awards and three of them were honored for placing in the top three at the SKILLS USA competition. Why is it that the BOCES students don't receive the same recognition as the seniors graduating from other high schools.
They work just as hard, if not harder, in order to accomplish the goals required for them to receive BOCES diplomas.
Where would this country be without carpenters, heavy equipment operators, nurses, culinary people, beauticians, barbers, etc.? Are these not professions just as good, if not better. Not everyone wants to be a doctor or a lawyer. Thank goodness.
This was the largest graduating class from BOCES. Let's give these 224 students the recognition they most fully deserve with some kind of an article about them.
