Pop Warner sign-up set for Thursday
Registration for Pop Warner football and cheerleading will take place from noon to 2 p.m. June 16 and June 23 and from 6 to 8 p.m. June 21, at the YMCA.

Newcomers must bring a copy of their birth certificate, a photo, and a parent or guardian must be present.

AHS girls lax camp begins next month

The Auburn Girls Lacrosse Camp will run a 10-session camp from July 25 to Aug. 9. Camp will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at Seward Elementary. It is open to all girls in grades first through eighth, and will provide a mix of skills, drills and games every day. The cost is $80 per child and $50 for each additional child.

Sportsmen's Club hosting open house

The Cayuga County Sportsman's Club will be hosting an open house Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 1.

The event will give those interested in the shotgun sports an opportunity to see what the club has to offer, take a tour of the different events, such as Trap, Skeet, 5-stand and Sporting Clays, and even try a game. Shooting is restricted to ages 14 and older, and all safety equipment will be provided.

Instructors will be on hand, and there will be complimentary coffee and doughnuts.

YMCA hosting girls volleyball camp

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is hosting a girls volleyball camp from 8:30 a.m to noon July 16-20.

There will be a pizza party on the last day for all participants. The camp is open to girls ages 12 and older.

The fee is $40 for Y members and $80 for the general public. The fee includes a camp T-shirt.

Child tennis lessons available in July

Registrations are being accepted for tennis lessons for children ages 6 and up at the Auburn Parks and recreation Department, 358 Genesee St., Auburn.

There will be four sessions as follows: July 2-6 at Casey Park, July 9-13 at Clifford Park, July 23-27 at Casey Park and July 30 to Aug. 3 at Clifford Park. Lessons will be offered for beginners, intermediate and advanced players.

AHS girls basketball camp begins Aug. 6

The Auburn Maroons girls basketball camp will run from Aug. 6-9 at Seward Elementary.

Sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the camp is open to girls in grades third through eighth who live in the Auburn School District. Limited openings are available.
