Two Cents

I see they put the floating water quality equipment for Owasco Lake in the middle instead of in the inlet where Moravia dumps its treated sewage into the lake. Isn't anyone going to get around to testing the DNA of the fecal coliform to see if it's animals or people that are contaminating the lake?
Keep the body bags and solar containers coming. It's a long way off to 2008.

There's good reason why so many good people in Auburn want the Human Rights board or Human Wrongs Board eliminated. We wish The Citizen, in their quest to be fair, would give the pro-American conservative side of this issue when they're doing editorials or articles about this problem.

An agent provocateur (agitator) is often a lone wolf figure who sabotages group cohesion by creating arguments between people who might otherwise get along. Lucky for us we don't have any people like this throwing gasoline on the fire in the Two Cents section!

So what's up with having to register on The Citizen's Web site in order to leave a comment on an article?

Why are we getting rid of the human rights office when so many rights in Auburn are being violated? The school has a lot of trouble, and people that live in Auburn are having a lot of trouble with the police and the school and the parking.

" Booboo, why don't you just change your sign-in name to "Bobo-baugh"--'cause I can hear the "Rush" talking points in nearly everything you say. "Hate Capitalism?" you say? Haven't we been over this ground before?!?! I think I've finally figured you out though; to you, "Socialism" means any time or way that your tax dollars are being spent to benefit anyone YOU consider unworthy. To you, generosity, compassion and taking care of the least among us is unthinkable, ie, "socialism" Look, buddy; the bill for this vile war is starting to come in, and you know who's paying it? Not the rich fat cats, but you, me, and every person living in a small town who is seeing their budgets and government aid for schools, police, transportation, etc, DRY UP. What do you think pays for all that???? TAXES, DUMMY! No matter WHO gets in the White House, they're going to HAVE TO raise taxes on those poor "small business owners" who make only 200,000-plus a year. TAX THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD TO PAY! Bush's tax cuts have certainly NOT done that adequately! "

" for everything that has gone wrong in the city, county, state, country, and the world--I CANNOT blame Pres.Bush--I would have to take responsibility and blame myself and all those that are of the age 18 and older--VOTERS! Though I may not always agree, as a USA citizen I respect and support my freedom of speech, my human rights, my choice of religion, my President and our Troops. "

" Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that the democrat agenda is a socialist agenda. Socialism is inferior to Capitalism. Democrats hate capitalism, right? Why? Do you hate freedom too? Freedom and capitalism go hand in hand. Did you know that two thirds of those who make over 200k are small business owners. They're backbone of the American economy. Democrats want to tax the hell out of 'em even after they repeal the tax cuts. "

" Chris, really? You recommend a tin-foil hat?! where'd ya get it? Must look SHARP with your leather speedo! ANYHOO--more "Socialism" from Bobbo, more useless comments from Chris and yet another reference to comedian Rush Limp-BAH!....SIGH...what would Ann Coulter say about all this?!?! "

" Actually Bobbo, if you do a little research, Auburn had a choice between the state capital and the prison ... The start of a long line of great choices by this community. "

" Who needs rights, anyhow? As long as we get a new Admisistrator to do most of Mr. Palesh's work, it souinds like a great budget to me. I loooove bureacracy. "

" I can't wait for '08 when the Socialitsts..er..uh..I mean "democrats" (wink wink) take office, no one will be poor and illegals won't be legal and they'll pay huge fines to save Social Security. All the new legalized immigrants will do all the work 'cause I don't want to work. I'll just retire in Somalia where all the Muslims will love us. "

Bobbo wrote on Jun 15, 2007 2:06 PM:

" Owasco lake would be a lot cleaner if it weren't for that George Bush! If it weren't for "W", the Schein theater never would have closed! I heard Auburn was passed up by the Eire Canal, I-90, the State Capitol, and all it got was this lousy prison. Clearly all Georgy's fault. I can't wait 'til Hillary gets in office in '08. She'll take all the profits from those mean hard working rich people and give it to me so I can sit on my butt and collect welfare. She'll make global warming go away and all the terrorists will sing and dance and they will love us and stop trying to kill us. "

" That right Karl. Its got to be some Bush-CIA-Halliburton-Cheney conspiricy. I hope you've got your tinfoil hat on tight, need to keep those evil GOP rays out. "

" The Human Rights Office is being eliminated precisely because rights are being violated. If you close the office, it's a lot harder to file a complaint--and a lot more expensive via hiring a lawyer to pursue your claim. But why should we be surprised? Auburn is just following the model of the Bush Administration, on a smaller scale! "

Andy B wrote on Jun 15, 2007 12:08 PM:

" We don't need a seperate human rights office. That is what the police, City Hall and our elected officials are for. "

Chris Van Note wrote on Jun 15, 2007 12:08 PM:

" You consider parking, or troublesome students or people being arrested for commiting crimes a violion of their "Human Rights"? Are you going to play the race card if you can't find a parking spot? "
