I am greatly ashamed and disappointed in the Auburn High School Class of 2007 and other students for their behavior on the last day of classes (June 8). Your mischief-making and immaturity ruined my day, and you've embarrassed our graduating class in front of everyone.
The one thing that's most noticeable about the Roy Brown affair is that it was only until there was nothing that could be done to stop that DNA testing, that Mr. Vargason, Mr. Budelmann and everybody else involved in Cayuga County got behind it.

2008 -- no to anti-gun Clinton, Giuliani, Edwards, McCain, Romney et.al. No citizens with guns - no America.

I think The Citizen tries harder than any newspaper I've ever seen to try to be balanced, and except for their occasional promotion of truly liberal candidates, like Rigby and Ginny Kent, the paper really tries to do a good job. But if they want somebody to balance off Amy Goodman's admitted communist philosophy, the paper should get a true conservative instead of Mike Reagan as its columnist.

After watching movies depicting Pearl Harbor, how can anyone justify purchasing a Japanese foreign import vehicle? They have their arguments of course but it's putting America second.

I'm pretty sure you've made a racial comment and it's the same thing as saying that all Muslims are bad people because of Bin Laden or all Iraqis are bad people because of Saddam or hey, all americans are bad people because of bush for starting a war that we shouldn't even be in. hmmmmm maybe we all should just walk from now on because no country is good enough for us to drive their cars. Kinda like Democrats promise "free health care", there's no such thing as free health care only subsidised, poor quality health care is in their future. "

" Get over Roy Brown, you do gooders and whinners will beat this in to the ground. Carbonaro and his staff of one or two DAS he had and his investigator collected all the evidence against Brown and were ready to present it to a jury. But do to another questionable trial (Bianco)the voters got smart and voted Carbonaro out. Now Vargason has to go to trial with what Carbonaro provided (in less than two weeks)(evidence) so yes if I was vargason I would have waited for the DNA test that wasn't availabe at the time. Vargason did the right thing and should be commended and should be praised for his work on Browns case . He was looking out for the victim and also that Browns rights were not trampled on again. Now nobody knows what happen that night or maybe Brown does know what happen? "

" I agree with the write about the last day of school and embarassing everyone. It is sad that people feel the need to be destructive and immature. Did they think of the janitorial staff or other students who got stuck cleaning up after them? Did they think of the underclassmen who will suffer for their deeds? Oh yes, my class also did damage and we still talk about it with embarassment at our reunions. Oh how we wish we were more mature! Maybe this will teach them as it taught us...life is about more than YOU. It is about leaving a positive legacy for those who come after you. Imagine what the juniors think of those seniors??? Embarrassment and horror...and shame..as well as anger. I bet there last day the doors will be locked...the police will be there and people will be arrested if they try any of that baloney!!! AT least I hope so... "

" Bobbo, believe it or not, my Dad is actually quite a "bigwig" in the NRA--he does fundraising dinners, write editorial letters and such--and we have healthy debates over the NRA policies, so believe me, I've heard the "other side". I even peruse his official NRA magazine to see what latest bull they're pushing and see the latest scowl from that crackpot Wayne LaPierre (booo!!!) I can't BELIEVE how they push FEAR, just like this administration--about how sensible gun laws would "take away your hunting rifles" and "confiscate every gun in America"! NONSENSE!!! So, anyhoo...I've HEARD the other side--and I remain unconvinced. The sad thing is, as a hunter myself, at one time I might've belonged to the NRA, but since they've been hijacked by the Radicals in their midst, they've become as dangerous an advocacy group that has ever existed in this country. "

Bobbo wrote on Jun 14, 2007 4:24 PM:

" Karl you've only heard one side of the gun debate, the liberal side. But its not surprising that the liberals would have you brainwashed into giving up your right to bear arms since they want to control everything we do. The fact is that, as you said "All the scumbags and misguided gangbangers and under-endowed phony-tough posers who SHOULD NEVER own one" are the ones who have them (and not legally). So you want to disarm the law abiding citizens while leaving the criminals heavily armed. That's stupid and scary. Crime rates would skyrocket. On the other hand, tighten "carry" laws and require backround checks, and mandatory training. Funny, you don't find to many armed robberies, crime, or homicides at the gun club. These armed criminals target those people and places that have less or no guns than them. Its a power trip thing. "

" Don't make me laugh... Michael Moore "strong and honest"? I agree that some healthcare companies are making money off the backs of the people they're supposed to be helping and it should stop, but Moore is nothing but a loudmouth wanting his moment in the limelight, and will twist words and present things as far out of context as possible to make them fit his preconceived notions of things. And so many people buy his trash it's pathetic. Oh, and if Cuba's healthcare system is so great, why did they have to fly in a medical team from Spain to treat Castro? "

So far, I have had to have some minor body work done (I don't have a garage so weather can wear a car down), but (knock on wood) nothing in the engine. It was most likely made right here in the USA by America workers -- with parts from all over the world. No such thing as an "American car" anymore. "

Seems like most every day there is some new technical glitch with this site.... "

" EVERY time I hear another argument why we need more guns in America they seem to get more desperately ridiculous--like yours, Bobbo. Many college kids don't have the maturity to handle a 40-ounce and drink responsibly--and you want to put guns in their hands? Simply astounding stupidity! I will never understand the mentality of you people who think that a the right to carry around a portable weapon capable of killing is a "good thing" to extend to each and every numbskull and miscreant out there; ya know, those people who have about a 1-second short fuse and act impulsively! You have to realize that not ALL citizens--like me, for one--would even WANT to carry around a bulky firearm, or might not be able to even afford one. But you know who damn well would make it a priority to get one? All the scumbags and misguided gangbangers and under-endowed phony-tough posers who SHOULD NEVER own one. Unbelievable! "

" Boboo, I agree. It was during the Clinton administration that the US started selling itself to China, but the situtaion has gotten much, much worse under Bush. A large part of this is due to the fact Bush needs the Chinese to pay for the war in Iraq. In WWII the government sold war bonds to the American people to pay for the war, now we are letting China by our "war bonds" thus letting China own us. "

The Clinton admin did nothing either and it goes farther back then that. That's like blaming 911 all on Bush but we now know Clinton could have done more to to prevent it also. As far as guns, I think banning them from law abiding citizens endangers more people (the criminals will still have them), but I do think they should require backround checks and manditory training to ensure those who do have them don't blow beer cans off peoples heads. A very strong and very honest documentary about a health system that's totally corrupt and that is without any care for its patients. Insurance companies making billions off of denying fully covered Americans. While other countries are offering free universal health-care to all their citizens (even CUBA). I watched a screening of this movie and I think everyone needs to see it. But don't just read what I am saying, watch it for yourself and then know if you want to make a difference or not. "
