Those “electronic guns” don't detonate IEDs, they jam the radio signals of remote-detonated IEDs If the IED is pressure activated, like the one that blew up my son's truck, the jammers are useless.
Over $1 trillion has been spent on Iraq, and we have implemented huge tax cuts for the very rich. To pay for these fiascoes, we want to close the Auburn Social Security office.

Why is it that Sheriff Dave Gould will not take responsibility for the suspension of Lt. Langler? I can only assume that he didn't realize the overwhelming support that Langler would receive from the people in Cayuga County.

I'm not certain what Ms. Estabrook meant when she said Roy Brown didn't deserve any money, but I'll certainly remember that when she gets a bum rap and railroaded into prison for 15 years for something she didn't do.

Just like there's no statute of limitation for murder, there's no statute of limitations for those that would hide the murderer.

I don't understand why The Citizen continues to publish Judy's “My View” column. Doesn't she realize that by today's standards, when she refers to the casino owners as “the Indians,” her racial prejudices shine through?

Last week The Citizen showed a picture of five lawyers the government supplied a terrorist being held in Cuba. How many will I get when I refuse to sign up for phony Medicare Part D and refuse to register my rifle and shotgun?

I have an idea, let's get all the taxpayers together and form a corporation so we can tell the county that we're having trouble keeping up with the Jones and we need money. If they don't give us twice as much as we need and let us stop paying taxes, we're going to move.

The wheels of justice are coming down on John Chick like a sloth on librium.

Why can't we keep the Social Security office here in Auburn? We are mostly populated with senior citizens.

Industries move out of Auburn, now Social Security is moving out of Auburn. What is going on?

All truck drivers, whether it be an independent or a company unit, all must pay taxes for all roads they drive, regardless of what state they are in and it is not their fault that these monies are misappropriated. For all of you who complain nonstop about truck drivers, stay home because if you buy it, they brought it.

Paris Hilton's recent inexplicable early release from jail proves beyond a measure of doubt one thing - that there is a different measure of justice for pretty well-connected rich people.

I'm loud and I'm proud to be fighting against this McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill that rewards these criminal Mexican invaders.

To Mr. Palesh and others in power: Leave the nonprofit agencies alone in regard to a garbage collection fee. To save money start by giving up some of your cushy benefits in parks.

Michael Arcuri, please fight hard to keep the Social Security office in Auburn, the senior citizens can not be traveling on the roads to Syracuse and Geneva at their ages.

I find it humorous that treasonous George Bush got sick to his stomach when he found out that the Senate rejected his amnesty scheme to get 70 to 80 million criminal, free-loading Democrat voters into the United States, and was shot down.

Just because truckers provide a vital service doesn't give them the right to break the laws and endanger the public. If I'm injured by truck, my family will suffer greatly - please slow down.

Could not the Cayuga County Convention and Visitors Bureau find other people whose names did not end in Lattimore or a blood line to a Lattimore for the increasing tourism honors.

I must respond to The Citizen's Our View, on May 31, that said the sheriff's office needs to get past politics because apparently The Citizen was seriously misinformed. This sheriff, David Gould, is the most non-political sheriff we ever had -- ask a deputy and ask the former sheriff's loyalists.

Those of us who were able to attend the concert by the pupils of Victoria Kenney, at the Church of the Nazarene: It was a wonderful performance and she needs to be congratulated as well as the eight harpists who performed for us.

How true was the comment in The Citizen's Say column about the prison attracting undesirables. Auburn is now a dangerous crime-ridden town, thanks to the families of prisoners who come here to milk the welfare system.
