The 17th annual Men's Box Lacrosse League at Casey Park will begin play on Monday, July 2. Team Applications and Over 30 League applications are currently being collected. Applications are available at Liberty Lacrosse, Champions For Life or Auburn High School. The deadline is

Golf tournament at Lakeview next week
The eighth Marty Ferro golf tournament will be held at 11 a.m., June 18, at Lakeview Country Club. Proceeds will benefit the Rotary Community Foundation.
The cost is $75, which includes a dinner, golf, cart and snacks on the course and prizes. There are big prizes for a hole-in-one.

‘The Deuce' set to run this Friday
The eighth running of “The Deuce,” an annual sanctioned 2-mile run to raise funds for the Frontenac Museum and Historical Society will be held Friday, June 15, at Frontenac Park in Union Springs.
The Open Men/Women, Master Men/Women and High School Boys/Girls race will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the 800-meter run for 13-14-tar-olds at 7:15 p.m. and the 600-meter race for 10- to 12-year-olds at 7:25 p.m. The awards ceremony will take place at the Union Springs Village Offices immediately following.
The advance registration fee of $10 adult, $8 children, must be received or postmarked by June 8. Late registrations will be accepted until the day of the race at $12 for adults, $10 children.

Boat safety course begins this month
Certified boating instructor Ralph Gray will conduct a series of boating safety classes at Bass Pro Shops in the Fingerlakes Mall.
The course dates and hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16, from 6 to 10 p.m. June 28-29, from 6 to 10 p.m. July 11-12 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28.
The cost of the class is $35 and will give participants the New York requirement for a personal watercraft.
Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boater who successfully complete a safe boating course.
Class size is limited and registrations are mandatory at Bass Pro Shops customer service counter or by calling the store at 258-2700.

Limited spots are available for the Auburn Junior Olympic Softball program for two divisions: ages 8-10 and 11-12.
The cost is $40 for all Auburn City District residents and a $45 fee will be charged to non-residents.
