The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is asking for public assistance to find a town of Brutus teen missing since Memorial Day.
Amanda M. Martin, 15, was last seen at the County Line Trailer Park off Route 5 between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. May 28. Deputies said she asked a neighbor for directions to the Wal-Mart in Camillus before disappearing.
Martin has not made any contact with family or friends since. She's been known to walk distances of a few miles in the past.
Investigators believe Martin may be endangered.
"This is abnormal," Sheriff's office detective Lt. Joseph Weeks said Friday. "She's run away before, but has always been located within a day or two. This time she has not been seen or heard from by anyone that we know of since Memorial Day. This is causing us to become increasingly concerned for her."
Martin is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and black skirt.
"We don't have any idea where she is right now," Weeks said. "We're following leads. We're hoping the public can help us."
Deputies ask that anyone that may have given Martin a ride or has seen her call the Sheriff's office at 253-1222 or detective Brian Schenck at 253-3545.
