Swim lessons to be held at Casey Park
Registrations for swimming lessons at the Casey Park Recreation Facility will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. June 14, and from 10 a.m. to noon June 16.

Casey Park Pool will open for the summer season Saturday, June 23.

Girls hoops camp to run in August

The Auburn Maroons girls basketball camp will run from Aug. 6-9 at Seward Elementary.

Sessions will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the camp is open to girls in grades third through eighth who live in the Auburn School District.

Limited openings are available.

Youth fishing derby this weekend

The Falcon Sportsmen Club will hold its 55th annual Kids Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the club grounds in Sennett.

The event is free for children 14 and under, and open to the public.

Prizes will be awarded, and there will be games, prizes and food, including a chicken barbecue.

‘Deuce' race to run June 15

The eighth running of “The Deuce,” an annual sanctioned 2-mile run to raise funds for the Frontenac Museum and Historical Society will be held Friday, June 15, at Frontenac Park in Union Springs.

The Open Men/Women, Master Men/Women and High School Boys/Girls race will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the 800-meter run for 13-14-year-olds at 7:15 p.m. and the 600-meter race for 10-12-year-olds at 7:25 p.m.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Union Springs Village Offices immediately following.

The advance registration fee of $10 adult, $8 children, must be received or postmarked by June 8.

Late registrations will be accepted until the day of the race at $12 for adults, $10 children.

AHS Hall of Fame seeks nominations

The Auburn High School Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations.

Forms can be picked up at the Auburn YMCA, Lewis Restaurant, or the Auburn athletic office on Thornton Avenue.

All candidates for the AHS Hall of Fame must be nominated by someone else, and once nominated that person will remain on the ballot.

Nominations must be received by June 30. The banquet will be Nov. 3 at Springside Inn.
