Two Cents

Wednesday, June 6, 2007 10:04 AM EDT

The Citizen has finally convinced me that you are an ultra-conservative newspaper since you keep publishing the dribble that Mike Reagan issues every week. His comments aren't even worth two cents.
Mr. Dempsey, if you disagree with having a casino in Auburn, that's OK. Then please get some good jobs in Auburn so I can work.

Maybe Mayor Lattimore or the members of council should go to Casey Park one night to watch the Recreation Softball League. There are 11 lights that are broken on one field.

If anyone needed proof of the fraud Bush and his administration is putting over on the American people regarding Homeland Security, look no further than the TB fiasco this past week.

Some of you morons out there don't have the slightest idea what Memorial Day is. I'll bet you don't even know what Nov. 11 is either.

The truck owner that complained about paying a mileage tax to abuse our lousy no jake-braking streets, you should ask for your money back.

Having a Casino in Auburn will be like an episode of a back to the future movie.

" Bozo, as for the 911 conspiracy theories - you should know that they are ALL theories - nothing has been proven. In fact, Osama bin Forgotten is not even wanted in connection with 911. Just check out the FBI's website. The government's conspiracies were called a "half-baked farce" by Fire Engineering magazine. Personally, after reading numerous treatments and watching countless videos would have to concur. The investigation was a total coverup and an excercise in damage control. We need a REAL investigation. "

" Well all media spins facts, but Hannity, Fox News, et.al. don't really hide it (they admit they're what their fighting for) like The Times and CNN do. The liberal media won't do stories on anything that might make Republicans look good. I guess there are liberal media like moveon.org that admit what their fighting for too, but they spew just as much hate and twist facts to their favor. "

" Great, Booboo, if your "radio heroes" do these things--my hat's off to'em; but stop getting off topic. What we're talking about here is people who make up their own facts anf figures, spin the facts and spew hatred. And YOU invest them with credibility! BTW, I don't even lisyen to "Liberal" radio--I read varociously, and believe it or not, occasionally even turn on FAUX news to see what ridiculous nonsense ther idiots are spewing. I can usually tolerate about 45 minutes...BTW#2, Amy Goodman's columns in the Citizen are some of the MOST eloquent and well-thought-out columns that appear; it's only a shame that they're interspersed with that UBER-MORON Reagan!! " Now Karl, everyone knows The New York Times holds that title. Boy is it hot here in the south today. I'll be running my A/C all day, do you think I should buy some "carbon credits" from Al Gore? hahahahahahaha!!!!! LMFAO!! "

Bobbo wrote on Jun 7, 2007 8:24 AM:

" At least I'm smart enough to take talk radio with a grain of salt. You guys actually believe our government blew up the WTC. No one will ever take you seriously on here again (hahahahaha busted). By the way, Limbaugh was nominated for a noble peace prize and does fund raisers every year for people with lukemia ($300 million this year alone). Sean Hannity holds "freedom concerts all over the country each year with proceeds going to finance college educations for children of fallen soldiers. Neal Boortz leads the "Fair Tax" movement to overhaul the current FUBAR tax code. On the other hand, Air America stole money from charities to fund their failing radio pogram, while liberals like Rosie call our troops terrorists on national TV (what a great patriot, right AJ?). "

" Along with the New York Times ... and the Auburn Citizen. (Just try to post something critical of one of their favorite politicians -- you can insult private individuals all day, but make a complaint about one of their darlings and it won't see the light of internet-daylight). Seriously, are there any news media which aren't biased? "

Bobbo wrote on Jun 7, 2007 7:52 AM:

" Well, since you gave yourselves away with the wacko 911 conspiracy theories, I thought I'd throw you a bone. But your propoganda arguement against conservative talk radio is as easily applied to the liberal media like Amy Goodman (what a joke!) or Al Frankin (hehe). Good thing nobody takes them seriously since all they do trash this great counrty on a daily basis. "

" Karl, as you no doubt noticed, he also mentioned Hannity and Boortz in the very same sentence. Hard to believe, I know! According to my math, that makes the comment even more absurd by a factor of three. Indeed it says a great deal, and what little credibility he posessed prior to this, has now been thoroughly shattered. Bobbo and those like him are suckers for propaganda, faulty reasoning, and faulty logic, and wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. Tragic, yet somewhat comical I have to admit. "

Bobbo you just told me EVERYTHING I need to know about you! Thank you for that gift! Let me give you some advice, my misguided friend--the words "Limbaugh" and "Truth" should NEVER APPEAR IN THE SAME SENTENCE TOGETHER!! Surely, you jest right? Please, my stomach is hurting from laughing so hard!! "

" Yeah Bobbo, Neal Boortz, hanity, and Limbaugh are real sticklers for the truth. You've got to be joking. Get a life! These people are nothing but shills for the most corrupt administration in history. If it weren't so serious a problem, it would be laughable. BTW, I've got a bridge I want to sell. Interested? "

" if IRS tax rules are applied to residents of Puerto Rico: (1) the residents would owe around $623 million in federal income tax before taking into account the earned income tax credit (EITC); (2) the aggregate amount of EITC would total $574 million; (3) 59 percent of the population filing individual income tax returns would earn some EITC;(4) 41 percent of the households filing income tax returns would have positive federal income tax liabilities, 53 percent would receive net transfers from the federal government, and 6 percent would have no federal tax liability; (5) more Puerto Rican residents and married couples would file federal tax returns if they qualified for EITC; (6)the average EITC earned by eligible taxpayers would be $1,494; "

" Sorry to disappoint you Karl but my job requires extensive travel on a regular basis, which is the reason I no longer live in Auburn. I don't know what parts of these country's you've been to but I doubt seriously you have been involved with anything unrelated to tourism. If this is what you view as truth I feel for you. I do not beleive everything I'm told, I make decisions based on experiences and research. And I sure as heck don't believe in your theory regarding the WTC, nor do I agree with the majority of what you say. I read your little comments for the entertainment value only, the Washington Post gets old. "

Karl L wrote on Jun 6, 2007 3:35 PM:

" Hey "Must be true": As a matter of fact, I do leave Auburn regularly. Here's a list of some of the places I've been so far: Moscow, Istanbul, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Zlin, Athens, Prague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Sao Paolo, Brasilia, Budapest, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland,--that's a SHORT list...where you been? Cortland? Binghamton? Maybe even Pittsburgh?! Sad to see that people like you have apparently nothing to add, and content yourselves with insults while hiding behind epithets. It's people like you who are content to swallow whatever $@%# the government feeds you in order to keep you docile that drives people like me to attempt to wake you from your cozy somnolence. Believe me buddy--travel the world like I do and you receive more than an "education" in politics and the way the world REALLY works--alas, you'll probably never know that. :( "

" Yesterday, "hey you don't know jack" asked: " Since when did health insurance for two-direct pay cost $16,000 a year. I actually work for a health insurance company and apparently more research needs to be done because certain plans are less than $16,000." In case s/he doesn't think to look up yesterday's Two Cents for the answer, here it is: I'll ask my farmer friend what company they were with -- he was paying $4,000 four times a year for himself and his wife (who is disabled) but it was supposed to go up over $17,000 this year. When he dropped himself from the coverage, the cost dropped well more than half (it's now something like 1/4-1/3 what it cost for the two of them) -- they told him farming is considered a "high risk" occupation and they charge a lot more to insure a farmer than other professions. Small farmers get it stuck to them left and right all the time. "

" So a US citizen abroad who has TB and is told not to leave a country by the doctors there does anyway, doesn't tell anyone he has TB, and gets back into the US by crossing the border from Canada, and somehow this is all Bush's fault? I'm not a big fan of the guy, but that's an astronomical stretch, and it's absolutely no proof of fraud. He landed in Canada first, shouldn't you be blaming them for letting him back into this hemisphere in the first place? "
