Youth fishing derby this weekend
The Falcon Sportsmen Club will hold its 55th annual Kids Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the club grounds in Sennett.
The event is free for children 14 and under, and open to the public. Prizes will be awarded, and there will be games, prizes and food, including a chicken barbecue.

Girls lacrosse camp taking sign-ups
The Auburn Girls Lacrosse Camp will run a 10-session camp from July 25 to Aug. 9. Camp will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at Seward Elementary. It is open to all girls in grades first through eighth, and will provide a mix of skills, drills and games every day. The cost is $80 per child and $50 for each additional child.
Sign-ups will be from 9 to 11 a.m. June 9, at Auburn High School. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.laxified.com.

The Auburn Lacrosse Boosters will hold the final registration session for the 17th Summer Lacrosse Camp from 9 to 11 a.m. June 9. Registration will be held at Auburn High School in the lobby in front of the gym. The four-week camp is for boys entering grades first through 12th.
Instruction is provided by current staff and AHS alumni who are playing collegiate lacrosse. Registration forms are available at Auburn High School, Liberty Lacrosse and Champions for Life.

Certified boating instructor Ralph Gray will conduct a series of boating safety classes at Bass Pro Shops in the Fingerlakes Mall.
The course dates and hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16, from 6 to 10 p.m. June 28-29, from 6 to 10 p.m. July 11-12 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28.
The cost of the class is $35 and will give participants the New York requirement for a personal watercraft.
Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boater who successfully complete a safe boating course.
Class size is limited and registrations are mandatory at Bass Pro Shops customer service counter or by calling the store at 258-2700.

The varsity soccer teams at Union Springs High School are currently working on a campaign to collect your unwanted soccer equipment to donate to The Lighthouse School in the Dominican Republic.
Two soccer club members will be traveling to the region in July to deliver the equipment.
