A Weedsport man died Sunday morning in Homer after his 2001 Jeep Cherokee overturned several times.
New York State Police believe Brian S. Donahue, 37, fell asleep behind the wheel while driving southbound on Route 281 in Homer. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the road, traveled across the northbound lane, struck a culvert and rolled over.
Donahue was extricated from his vehicle by the Homer Fire Department and pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred around 7:20 a.m. Sunday.
State police said their investigation is continuing.
