Youth fishing derby to take place June 10
The Falcon Sportsmen Club will hold its 55th annual Kids Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the club grounds in Sennett.

The event is free for children 14 and under, and open to the public. Prizes will be awarded, and there will be games, prizes and food, including a chicken barbecue.

Doubledays FanFest this weekend

The Auburn Doubledays will be kicking off the season with the annual Fan Fest from noon to 3 p.m. June 2, at Leo A. Pinckney Field at Falcon Park. Admission to this event is free.

The Fan Fest will feature the National Anthem tryouts and the Falcon Park Chef Competition. The tryouts will take place at 1 p.m., and the competition will begin at 2 p.m. Interested parties for these two events are encouraged to register prior to the Fan Fest by calling 255-CITY.

Also at the Fan Fest, fans of all ages will be able to tour the locker room and stadium. There will be free balloons available for children, who are invited to run the bases with Abner and enjoy the Auburn Party Rental inflatables. The concession stand will be open and the new Sunday logo merchandise will be available for sale for the first time. For more information, call Erin Fodness at 255-2489.

Swimming lessons begin in July

Swimming lessons for all ages and levels are being offered in three two-week sessions sponsored by the Cayuga-Aurelius Recreation Program. The first session will run from July 9-20, the second from July 23 to Aug. 3, and the third from Aug. 6-17. Lessons are 30 minutes and will be held Monday-Thursday. The cost is $15 per child, $20 for two children, $25 for three and an additional $5 for more than three.

PS Flyers hosting first tournament

The Central New York PS Flyers offer the area a chance to check out the new and exciting game of Power Soccer from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2. The Flyers will host the first Central New York tournament at the Cayuga Community College gymnasium

Salmon Creek open to the public

The Salmon Creek Sportsmen's Club is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays and from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays.

Trap, five stand, skeet and sporting clays are available both days.

Champions for Life offering soccer camp

Champions For Life Sports Center will be offering a soccer camp Aug. 6-10, at Everest Park. The camp will focus on developing players in dribbling, passing, shooting, heading, defending, speed, strength, coordination and flexibility. Each player is required to bring a ball and water bottle. The fee is $125 per participant
