Ballroom dancing takes center stage at APT
You don't need a bow tie or a gown to go ballroom dancing. But you do need a nice floor.
The Auburn Public Theater recently renovated the terrazzo marble floor of its lobby area, and the theater will host ballroom dancing lessons Saturday night to both break in the new surface and fund its refinishing.
Dance enthusiast Andy Baldwin has entertained both new and experienced dancers at the theater before. At a recent session, Baldwin taught east coast swing to about 60 people, who spent the rest of the evening in the theater practicing their newly acquired moves alongside 20 additional ballroom veterans.
