It was a day of milestones for the Skaneateles girls lacrosse team.
Stephanie Rice scored eight times -- including her 100th goal of the season -- and the Lakers topped Christian Brothers Academy, 19-15, for their fifth consecutive Section III title.
In a game where defensive stops were hard to come by, possession became the name of the game. And Skaneateles had the most important one. After the Lakers built their lead, they were able to win the draw and hold possession for the closing 4:22 to seal the win.
Shannon Tierney scored four goals and added two assists, Jenna Lotkowictz had three goals and an assist, Libby Johnson had a pair of goals, and Gigi Vaughn recorded seven saves.
Rice now has 103 goals on the season.
