Ford Motor Company today offered 130,000 CIO Production workers the equivalent of a 15 cents-an-hour wage increase and simultaneously boosted the 20,000 salaried employees 10-percent.

UNION SPRINGS - A frustrated school board Tuesday night decided to put a new, reduced 1997-98 budget before voters next month but it postponed ironing out the details for two more weeks. Union Springs board members discussed potential cuts to maintenance and operation costs, field trip expenses, and travel and conference funds for staff development. The board was trying to find fat to skim from its $11.1 million district budget, which failed to gain public approval last Wednesday in a 500-500 tie vote.

AUBURN - Volunteer Mark Jameson was like the man with the checkered flag at the Indy 500 during Monday's Kiwanis Duck Derby. Except there was no flag waiting for the 6,000 plastic yellow ducks that floated down the Owasco Outlet to the finish line near the North Street Bridge.
