Downtown Genesee Street is a mess. Who came up with the “brainless” idea of all the cross walks and vehicles able to cross a “double solid” line to get a parking spot on the opposite side of the road?
Black trash bags - why does the city pick them up on trash day when we are not supposed to use them? The black bags should be left on people's property until they put it in white or clear bags.
Last month at least 111 Assembly people proposed and passed five firearms bills that prove they know absolutely nothing about firearms. The only thing these bills (A829, A 3447, A76, A2772 and A7731) will do is make a couple million New Yorkers instant criminals.
Government employees, whether local, state or federal, are an elite class because they can retire at a very young age and draw unbelievable benefits for the rest of their lives. This is one of the main reasons our taxes are so high and it will surely lead our governments to bankruptcy.
How can we go “way outside the district for a new school superintendent” when all administrators and teaching staff are from the same pseudo-intellectual, ultra-liberal mold of humanist academia? Talk about your good-old-boy system!
I quote Edgar J Steele: “When thoughts are outlawed, only outlaws have thoughts.”
Speaking of Mrs. Clinton raising millions of dollars for her campaign - how shameful can anyone get! All this is for personal gain while a good share of the folks she's supposed to be caring for are scrabbling for their next meal!
Why is the New York United Teachers Union allowed to threaten students with severe consequences if the school budgets are debated. This union should be stripped of its accreditation and abolished.
The silence from the usually loud mouth arrogant Yankee fans in Auburn has become very deafening.
I see The Citizen is again presenting misinformation in its newspaper with your quote from Christine Izzo, “You can own land in Fleming, but apparently you can't do what you want with it in Fleming.” The Izzos do not own the trailer park and the land where they proposed to build townhouses.
When I was an altar boy, the priest would tell us no matter what happens, it's your time when God decides he will take you. I guess Roy Brown is going to live to see his day in court.
Its a sad state of affairs when the 6 p.m. news is so busy airing commercials that the news has to be scrolled across the bottom of the screen.
At this point for every dollar New York state residents send to Washington, D.C. in taxes, we get back 76 cents. Why don't our politicians try to get back a fairer share?
Stop importing and burning sewage on Bradley Street. Leave Toronto's sewage in Toronto.
Why is that Republican Congressman Ron Paul can win almost every single online debate, but remain strangely absent from almost every news item covering those people running for president.
It's disgustingly ugly how the liberal media smeared the great and patriotic Rev. Jerry Falwell before he's even buried, while they consistently romance America-hating clergypeople like Sharpton and Jackson.
Don't need traffic lights downtown, traffic is stopped waiting for vehicles to get that parking spot.
I always pumped my own gas at the gas stations, now I am not able to anymore. How do you get service at the gas pumps when they are only self-serve?
I agree with the writer signed “sick and tired of Auburn.” I think we should do something to clean up this town with all these thugs and criminals, because it's spoiling it for those of us who work in this town and want to get around.
Thank you Fred Adsit for your concern for everyone's health. It's so much appreciated.
These big rigs can't stop for red lights if they don't apply the brakes. That's the way it is with most of them.
Memorial Day people from all over the Northeast will be flocking to Jordan when New York state's singing prodigy, Joann Breahut, will be singing a capella both the “Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America.” A real treat for patriotic Americans.
I think here in Auburn that with all the things that are going on in the street, maybe we should put the police back on the foot patrol like we used to have before. It wasn't that may years ago that they used to walk the beat at night.
It's quite easy to understand why the turn-out is so low at school budget votes. Those of us who pay the taxes know we are outnumbered by special interest groups, high school seniors and other non-taxpayers who are allowed to vote.
