Meridian Fire and six other departments spent several hours knocking down a blaze at 161 Fire Lane 13 in the town of Cato Wednesday.
No one was injured in a fire that caused extensive damage to the Latray residence and moderate damage to a seasonal home nearby.
Meridian firefighters got the call at about 3:22 p.m. They were later joined by Cato, Ira, Plainville, Jordan, Weedsport and Elbridge departments and back in service around 9 p.m.
“Everyone that showed up and came to help did an excellent job,” said Meridian Fire Chief Amed Perrotta.
The fire's cause is under investigation.
