Small fire quickly put out at D&W
Throop and Aurelius firefighters responded to a fire at D&W Diesel on Clark Street Road, Auburn, Tuesday night, according to the Auburn Fire Department.
An employee of D&W Diesel confirmed that the fire was small and contained and was extinguished almost immediately. By Wednesday morning, the business was back in full operation. Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
Program to advise on surviving flies
The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge will host a dragonfly and damesfly identification and survey workshop in June.Volunteers who pre-register can assist in the three-year project of the state Department of Environmental Conservation and federal agencies. Participants will learn the basic biology of dragonflies and damesflies and how to survey them from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23.

Sheriff's office says watercraft stolen
Cayuga County Sheriff's are investigating the theft of a 2005 Sea Doo personal watercraft and 2005 Venture trailer taken from near Fire Lane 10A on Route 38 in Moravia last weekend.
The theft occurred overnight between Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20. The blue and white watercraft was on the trailer at the time of the theft.
