The Meridian village board is expected to accept the resignation of Mayor Thomas Fadden at a special meeting Thursday night.
A notice from the village said the resignation is due to a change in Fadden's work schedule. Fadden, who has served as mayor since 1997, was not immediately available for comment.
He was last elected to a four-year term in 2005. The seat was uncontested.
Village trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the village offices, 11320 Short Cut Road, Meridian.
