Blood supply low, drives set up
An unexpected decline in blood collections since the beginning of May has resulted in a short fall of more than 1,900 units of blood.
T-shirts will be given to donors through Memorial Day. All donors through Thursday, May 31, are eligible to win $1,000 toward rent or a mortgage payment.
Several blood drives are planned: from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Port Byron High School; from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Union Springs Firehouse hosted by Cayuga Lake National Bank; from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Second Baptist Church, Auburn, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Chamber of Commerce, 36 South Street, Auburn.

Options to hold annual conference
Options for Independence will hold its annual conference, A World of Possibilities, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Auburn's Holiday Inn
The conference will provide information to consumers with disabilities, service providers, parents and the public.
The event includes workshops on healthy cooking, nutrition, wellness, strength training exercises and stress management. A fee of $25 includes lunch.
