An Aurelius man pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court Thursday to hitting a Florida man with a beer bottle at Spirits' Tavern in downtown Auburn July 3.
Joshua Bodoh, 22, of 6 Emily Drive, pleaded guilty to the felony of second-degree assault. Bodoh said he punched the man without the full awareness he had a bottle in his hand.
"I was intoxicated, not even really aware of what was going on at the time," Bodoh said.
Bodoh's attorney, Dennis Sedor, sought for Bodoh's $5,000 cash bail to be exonerated and put toward the plastic surgery the assault victim needs. Judge Thomas Leone reserved on that action.
The victim needed more than 50 stitches to close his wounds.
