Miccuci would be on the road if she wasn't serving customers

Each Wednesday, The Citizen features someone in the food services industry from the Finger Lakes community in The Banks:
This week, we spotlight Pat Miccuci of Kosta's Family Restaurant.

Q. What is the one food you cannot live without? Why?

A. Chocolate. I love chocolate.

Q. Fill in the blank. People would be surprised to know that even though I work in the food industry, when I am at home in the kitchen, I __________.

A. Don't cook very often.

Q. What do you like most about living and working in the Finger Lakes region?

A. Mostly it's calm and pleasant.

Q. If you were given $1 million to open your own restaurant, describe it and what type of food you would serve.

A. It'd basically be just like this one. I'd serve pasta, steaks and seafood.

Q. Where would it be located? Why?

A. Between here and Weedsport. It's just nice around here. I wouldn't want to go to Syracuse or Rochester.

Q. On the day of your restaurant's grand opening, if you could select anyone in the world to be your first three guests, who would they be?

A. My children, even though there's four of them, and my grandsons.

Q. Describe your most embarrassing moment while working on the job.

A. One time a prime rib platter tipped out of my hands somehow and fell into a gentleman's lap, thank God I knew him though.

Q. What is your favorite junk food?

A. Candy, potato chips and peanut butter.

Q. What have you learned are the top three ways to run a successful food business?

A. Be good to customers, take care of your employees and make sure everything's fresh.

Q. If you weren't working in the food business what would you like to be doing?

A. Traveling all over the United States plus Italy.

Q. Ugh. What's the one food which you absolutely can't stomach? Why?

A. Cheese. I've never liked it.
