Fundraiser to help Freedom Camp
Freedom Recreational Services is teaming up with Denny's in Auburn for a month-long fundraiser to benefit the agency's Freedom Camp, a day camp for special needs children. Every Wednesday in May from 4 to 10 p.m., Denny's will donate 10 percent of each purchase to the group.
Freedom Recreation Services is a small human service agency that provides education, recreation and social activities to children with special needs in Cayuga County.

The Long Hill Fire Department and Venice Pavilion will host a chicken dinner fundraiser at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at the fire department, 3513 Long Hill Road, Venice Center.
A full dinner is $6.50 and a half-order is $4.

SS. Peter & John offers spaghetti
The SS. Peter & John youth group's next all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the church, 169 Genesee St., Auburn. The youth group students will holding a dinner the fourth Wednesday of each month through June.
The money raised will be used to send the youth group members on a mission trip.

Winery to observe I Love Chocolate Day
I Love Chocolate Day will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at King Ferry Winery, 658 Lake Road, King Ferry. A plate full of sinful chocolate desserts, paired with King Ferry's wines and live music will be featured.
Cost is $7 per person.

Port Byron Farmer's Market to open soon
The Port Byron farmer's market will open from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Schasel Park on Route 31, Port Byron. The market will continue to be open during those hours every Wednesday through Sept. 12. There will be no market on Wednesday, July 4.
The market features local vendors, wineries, weekly chicken barbecues, monthly entertainment and bake sales.

A documentary film crew is coming to Cayuga County in search of the world's best Buffalo wing. Before they arrive, they would like tips on what area bars and restaurants make the best chicken wings. Send tips to: organizers@chickenwinghunt.com.
They are also looking for people to join the caravan of chicken wing connoisseurs for part or all of their journey. To join, e-mail signup@chickenwinghunt.com.
The world's first wing-eating tour begins in Manhattan Aug. 18 and ends in Buffalo Sunday, Sept. 2. The crew plans to arrive in the Finger Lakes area approximately one week into the journey. An exact date will be set as August draws near.
