Spots available for youth softball
Limited spaces are available for the Auburn Junior Olympic Softball program. The cost is $40 for all Auburn City District residents and a $45 fee will be charged to non-residents.

There will be three divisions: ages 8-10, 11-12, 13-14.

USBC members meeting next week

The annual membership meeting for the Auburn USBC Bowling Association will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Polish Falcons.

The end-of-season meeting will include bylaw changes and board of director elections.

D-days taking votes for Wall of Fame

The Auburn Doubledays Web site is now hosting a poll to elect the newest inductee into the Doubledays Wall of Fame in the contributor category.

Voting will run until May 31.

The nominees include former board members Vince Klein and Dr. Thomas Stapleton and former General Manager Bill Graney. They are joined by team historian Charlie Wride. The winner will be announced at the Doubledays FanFest June 2.

Golf tournament

benefits CYO

The Sacred Heart/St. Ann's CYO golf tournament will be held Sunday, May 20, at Dutch Hollow Country Club.

The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The fee is $60 per plate and includes greens fees, cart, buffet and prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Women's baseball league in the works

The Upstate Women's Baseball League now is being formed. Any woman who is at least 18 years old by June 1, is eligible. registrations can be sent to maricci@hotmail.com with name, address and date of birth.

Any woman interested in umpiring may also register. A training program will be provided for all interested.

The league, which will be amateur in focus, is also seeking businesses interested in sponsoring a team, or any group that has a team that might like to participate in the program.

AHS Hall of Fame seeks nominations

The Auburn High School Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations. Forms can be picked up at the Auburn YMCA, Lewis Restaurant, or the Auburn athletic office on Thornton Avenue.

All candidates for the AHS Hall of Fame must be nominated by someone else, and once nominated that person will remain on the ballot.

Nominations must be received by June 30. The banquet will be Nov. 3 at Springside Inn.
