Merritt F. Fletcher, 56, will run for the Cayuga County Legislative seat that current Democratic Legislator, Michael Lepak, District 14, will vacate at the end of the year.
Fletcher, a program assistant for Auburn's Booker T. Washington Center, said Wednesday, he has not decided which party he will seek endorsements from.
Fletcher also volunteers at SS. Peter and John Episcopal Church's soup kitchen.
“I complain a lot, so I figure if I complain enough I should try and do something,” Fletcher said.
