Mother's Day Tea planned in Aurora
The United Ministry of Aurora will host a Mother's Day Tea at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in the Social Room of the Ministry, 377 Main St., Aurora.

Tickets are $6 a person and $3 for children 12 and younger. To make reservations, call 364-8727.

Sacred Heart offers breakfast for Moms

Sacred Heart Church will host a Mother's Day breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 13, at the church on 90 Melrose Road, Auburn. The menu will feature scrambled eggs, sausage links, pancakes, juice and coffee. Fathers and children will be serving the breakfast to all the mothers in attendance.

The breakfast will be $3 for adults and $2 for children. For more information, call 252-7111.

Barbecue benefits snowmobile club

A chicken barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the Cato Fire Department, Route 370 in Cato, to support the Cato Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club.

SS. Peter & John to serve spaghetti

The SS. Peter & John youth group's next all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the church, 169 Genesee St., Auburn. The youth group students will hold a dinner the fourth Wednesday of each month through June.

The money raised will be used to send the youth group members on a mission trip.

Winery to observe I Love Chocolate Day

I Love Chocolate Day will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at King Ferry Winery, 658 Lake Road, King Ferry. A plate full of sinful chocolate desserts, paired with King Ferry's wines and live music will be featured.

Fundraiser to help Freedom Camp

Freedom Recreations Services is teaming up with Denny's in Auburn for a month-long fundraiser to benefit the agency's Freedom Camp, a day camp for special needs children. Every Wednesday in May from 4 to 10 p.m., Denny's will donate 10 percent of each purchase to the group.

Film crew looking for chicken wings

A documentary film crew is coming to Cayuga County in search of the world's best Buffalo wing. Before they arrive, they would like tips on what area bars and restaurants make the best chicken wings. Send tips to: organizers@chickenwinghunt.com.

The world's first wing-eating tour begins in Manhattan Aug. 18 and ends in Buffalo Sunday, Sept. 2. The crew plans to arrive in the Finger Lakes area approximately one week into the journey. An exact date will be set as August draws near.
