Jordan-Elbridge's Colleen Ryan struck out Marcellus' Amy Sniffen looking on a 3-2 pitch for the second out in the bottom of the fourth inning for her sixth strikeout of the game and 1,279th of her career, vaulting her into first place all-time in New York state. It was her 71st pitch of the game.
Her 167th strikeout of the year broke the record set by Sarah Reed in 2004.
Ryan, who has been on the varsity squad since seventh grade, had a 10-1 record this season entering Wednesday's game.
