They might not have won the game, but the Jordan-Elbridge boys lacrosse team can take something positive from a 7-4 loss to Skaneateles on Monday. The Eagles, down 4-2 at the half, held the Lakers to one of its lowest point totals in a win this season.
“It was a defensive battle, and both goalies played really well,” Jordan-Elbridge coach Rick Young said. “We came out on the short end of it, but it was a good game with not a lot of penalties.”
Scott Castle led the Lakers with four goals, while Eric Richards, James Allen and Erich Pingel scored the other three. Richards also added an assist. In the net, Josh Kimm had 14 saves.
For the Eagles, Korey Smart, Joe Poppe, R.J. Metz and Steve Major each scored once. Major also earned the assist on Metz's goal. Ken Bush tallied 12 saves for his team, and Tom Guadagnolo, Shawn Severin and James Simmons led the defensive effort.
The Eagles (7-8) host Marcellus on Wednesday.
