Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A. Working close to home, and I like to work with the public.
Q. What is the most
challenging?
A. Dealing with difficult patients.
Q. Describe your ideal patient.
A. Somebody that buys
a year's supply of contacts from me and has easy
insurance.
Q. What is the best piece of advice you could give someone who wears contact lenses to keep their eyes healthy?
A. Keep your contacts clean, don't over-wear them and have regular eye exams.
Q. What's the most
common misconception
you hear from patients?
A. That they don't have to clean their contacts every night.
Q. If you weren't in the health care field, what career or field would you do?
A. Probably culinary arts, that's what I originally went to school for.
Q. For someone considering a career like yours, what advice would you offer?
A. Go to school first.
Q. What's your ideal cure for the common cold?
A. Don't go to work
and take over-the-counter medicine.
Q. Which medical TV show is your favorite?
A. “Grey's Anatomy,” we watched it once and were hooked.
Q. Despite being in the health care field, people would probably be surprised that when I'm off the job, I _________.
A. I like to shop for crafts, like primitive country stuff. When I'm at work, I'm more “appropriate,” and when I'm off I'm more easygoing and spontaneous.
