Baseball meeting tonight at Emerson
There will be a mandatory meeting for all Pony and Little League coaches at 6 p.m., today, at the Little League field at Emerson Park. It will be followed by a meeting for umpires and scorekeepers at 7 p.m.

AEF golf classic coming in July

The Auburn Education Fund's fourth annual golf classic will take place Monday, July 16, at Highland Park Golf Course. There will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The $100 per person fee covers 18 holes of golf, cart, food on course, contests, buffet, team awards and door prizes. Golfers will also have a chance to compete in a hole-in-one contest for vacation packages and $50,000.

Doubledays seek player housing

The Auburn Doubledays are looking for potential sites for players and coaches for the 2007 season. They are in search of apartments, houses to rent and host families from June until September. Landlords must be able to accommodate short-term leases for the summer.

Summer basketball league seeks teams

The Lucas Manuel Basketball Association is now accepting teams for its new summer men's basketball league.

CYO golf tourney this month at Dutch

The Sacred Heart/St. Ann's CYO golf tournament will be held Sunday, May 20, at Dutch Hollow Country Club.

The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The fee is $60 per plated and includes greens fees, cart, buffet and prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Women's Baseball League in the works

The Upstate Women's Baseball League now is being formed. Any woman who is at least 18 years old by June 1, is eligible. registrations can be sent to maricci@hotmail.com with name, address and date of birth.

Any woman interested in umpiring may also register. A training program will be provided for all interested.

The league, which will be amateur in focus, is also seeking businesses interested in sponsoring a team, or any group that has a team that might like to participate in the program.

The Auburn Arsenal Soccer Club will be holding registration from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Seward School.

The league is open to all girls who are residents of the Auburn Enlarged School District currently in grades first through sixth.
