Auburn Police arrested a man for violating sex offender regulations as he was arraigned on other charges.
APD arrested Thomas J. Dolan, 25, at city court as he was being arraigned on an unrelated charge.
The level 3 sex offender faces charges of failing to register as an offender with local police.
Officer Andrew Skardinski, who monitors sex offenders in Auburn, found Dolan no longer lived at his last known address, 915 James St. in Syracuse. He was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2002 and is facing charges in Syracuse for violating his sex offender registry terms.
Officers arrested Dolan on charges of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property at 46 Elizabeth St. Apt 1, where Nicole M. Hurd, 18, was also accused of possessing stolen jewelry. APD charged Hurd with petit larceny after she admitted to taking a package that contained the jewelry, valued at less than $1,000, from the front porch of the building.
Officer Skardinski heard about Dolan's court appearance Monday and arrested him on sex offender charges. He is being held on $1.500 cash, $3,000 bond bail at the Cayuga County Jail.
The Syracuse Police Department has a warrant for Dolan's arrest. He was also arrested by Auburn Police in July for violating sex offender requirements for viewing a popular social networking site on a public computer.
